PWH Mentoring

Why participate in the PWH Mentoring Program?
Professional Women in Healthcare is pleased to announce the launch of a formal members-only mentoring program. This program will provide a very special opportunity for our members to connect with individuals across all sectors of the medical industry who want to work on their professional learning and development with the help, advice and support of a fellow PWH Member.
Mentoring relationships will create a safe space to ask questions, gain insight, accept constructive criticism and grow.  Each relationship will be made up of PWH members who share a common area of focus. During the inception of the program, each mentee will assess their needs and determine a specific, clear and concrete goal to work with the help and support of her mentor. Mentoring partnerships will take place over the course of six to 12 months.

Are you a Mentee or Mentor?
Mentee - An Emerging Leader.  She has a strong sense of her development needs and can identity one or more areas in which she needs mentoring support.  She set a specific goal at the beginning of the program and works to achieve it.  She is also at a point in her career where she is willing to take the next step and is open to ideas and proven advice while devoting appropriate time to reach her development goal.

Mentor - A Seasoned Healthcare Executive or Professional.  She has a keen sense of her strengths and the ability and experience necessary to guide her mentee.  She is willing to share of herself -- relaying stories and anecdotes from her own career, recounting successes and failures, offering ideas and approaches, identifying tools and connections.  She has a minimum of 5 years professional experience and has developed both individuals and teams.

What drives a successful Mentoring relationship?
  • Participants are responsible for determining when, where and how they connect
  • Both Mentor and Mentee must reserve enough time to dedicate to the program
  • What you put in is what you get out -- be transparent and the trust will cultivate

How do you get involved?

PWH Members are eligible to participate each quarter.  To enroll complete the applicable survey Mentee or Mentor survey below.  This is a self-assessment to determine your Mentee/Mentor connection.  Enrollment in the PWH member-only program is limited to 25 mentees and 25 mentors each quarter.
